Getting started
From downloading Amana to a complete profile.
How do I get Amana?
You can't yet. Amana has not been publicly released and is not available on Google Play or any other store. Anything claiming to be Amana today is not us — please do not install it.
When Amana opens, it will be announced on this site and available on Google Play for Android. An iPhone version is planned but has not been built. [launch date — to be confirmed]
Should I choose "myself" or "guardian"?
The first screen asks who the profile is for, and it matters — the answer changes what happens next and cannot be casually switched later.
Choose myself if you are looking for a spouse for yourself and will be the one using the account.
Choose guardian if you are a wali or family member creating and running a profile for someone else. You will create your own account first, then build their profile. Be aware that a guardian can read every conversation on the profile they manage, and that the profile stays hidden from everyone until your own government ID check is verified. The full guardian explainer is here.
What does signup actually ask me?
Signup is a sequence of short screens rather than one long form: your name, email and password; your date of birth and basic details; gender; sect; how you would describe your prayer; and your profession.
Amana uses real names only. There are no usernames, handles or display names, because a verification badge is only worth anything if it is attached to a name that can be checked.
You must be 18 or over. This is checked by our servers, not only by the app.
Why do I have to enter a code from my email?
To confirm the address belongs to you. We send a six-digit code, and nothing else in the app opens until it is entered. It keeps someone from signing up with an address they do not control, and it means we have a reliable way to reach you about your account.
The code is valid for 15 minutes and can only be used once. You can request a new one after a minute — a new code replaces the old one, which stops working immediately.
If the code isn't arriving, see troubleshooting.
Why do I have to pay before I can do anything?
Because Amana does not have a free tier. This is deliberate rather than a limitation — a paid platform where everybody has committed something is a different room from a free one, and that difference is much of the point.
There is one membership and it includes everything: matching, messaging, calls, verification, search, guardian tools, all of it. There is nothing further to buy and no premium version to be nudged towards.
Payment goes through Google Play billing, so your card details are held by Google and never reach Amana. Pricing will be confirmed before launch. [price — to be confirmed]
Is Amana really free for women?
Yes — for female members who have completed government ID verification. Once that check comes back verified, full access opens with no subscription needed.
Two things worth being clear about. It does not happen at signup: until the ID check actually completes, the membership screen appears exactly as it would for anyone else. And the verification isn't waived — it is the condition of the free route, so the check itself still has to be done.
If the ID check is later withdrawn — which only happens through a deliberate trust and safety decision — access reverts to the normal paid route.
What should I put on my profile?
Beyond the signup details you can add your location, ethnicity, height, education, the languages you speak, a short "about me", a photo, and a 30-second voice or video introduction.
Completing more of it genuinely helps: several fields feed the match percentage shown on your card, and an attribute left blank is skipped rather than counted against you — but it also can't count in your favour.
For what makes a good photo and a good introduction, see our profile quality guidelines.
Can I manage more than one profile as a guardian?
Yes. There is an "add another seeker" option in your guardian settings, so you can create additional profiles at any time — not only during your initial signup. You switch between them from the same place.
Each profile is separate for membership purposes. Paying for one does not pay for another, and paying for your own account does not pay for any of them.
